COMPENSATION: PER RTMEA CONTRACT

STARTING SALARY RANGE

$68,300 (Bachelor’s - Step 1) to $84,300 (Master’s - Step 6)

The Rose Tree Media School District and Springton Lake Middle School seek a dynamic and student-centered 8th Grade English Language Arts Teacher who engages students in the development of reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills. The ideal candidate designs engaging, standards-aligned instruction that emphasizes the analysis of literature and informational texts, the development of effective writing, and the ability to communicate ideas clearly. We are seeking an educator who creates a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students can actively participate, collaborate, and grow as thoughtful readers and writers. This full-time, contracted position is available for the start of the 2026–2027 school year.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, English Education, or a related field required.
• Valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in English (7–12) or Grades 4–8 with an English/Language Arts concentration.
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
• Strong knowledge of adolescent literacy development, including the ability to teach literary analysis, informational text, and evidence-based writing.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and support student growth.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
• Commitment to developing students’ critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience integrating technology and digital tools to support literacy instruction and student engagement.
