Duties
- Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards on operations and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively.
- Monitor compliance with CAL/OSHA (CA Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards, workers' compensation policies, and other relevant regulations.
- Develop and deliver safety training sessions tailored to manufacturing teams, site workers, and contractors to promote best practices.
- Perform regular site inspections, audits, and safety walkthroughs to ensure adherence to safety protocols and identify areas for improvement.
- Manage incident investigations by documenting occurrences, analyzing root causes, and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, compliance documentation, and training logs.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe machine operation, and emergency preparedness throughout the facility.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of risk management principles specific to food manufacturing environments.
- Expertise in occupational health practices and OSHA and CAL/OSHA compliance standards.
- Experience managing workers' compensation claims and related processes.
- Solid understanding of operations and safety procedures gained through hands-on site experience.
