Required Education
- Degree: Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
- Disqualifier: Associate degrees are not accepted.
- Years of Experience: 5–7 years of relevant professional experience.
- Internships: Internships do not count toward the required years of experience.
- Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Deep knowledge of structured methodologies for delivering software products; experience with all phases (requirements ? design ? deployment).
- Software Product Testing: Extensive experience designing, planning, and executing full-spectrum test strategies (functional, reliability, vulnerability); creating test plans and cases.
- Application Development Tools: Proficiency in evaluating and using multiple development toolkits and platforms.
- Programming: Extensive experience writing, debugging, and maintaining source code; ability to oversee development and coach junior developers.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Advanced ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and communications issues.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI): Basic understanding of AI concepts, particularly in self-driving systems; ability to test, troubleshoot, and maintain AI applications.
- Clear Communication: Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
- Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches and tools for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational, or process problems.

Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Autonomy Systems integration engineers to ensure product architecture requirements are fulfilled.
- Collaborate with Technical Program Managers and Application Architects to ensure program requirements are met (time, cost, quality).
- Ensure that base machine software changes are delivered on time for Command for Hauling releases (both NPI and CPI solutions).
- Support field data collection kit activities, including design support, procurement, and shipping to mine sites.
- Document architecture specifications, software design descriptions, verification plans, test cases, operating procedures, and safety procedures.
- Assist in the verification and validation process, including supporting/troubleshooting hardware-in-the-loop testing and proving ground test and development.
- Participate in the design and development of application software and algorithms for robotic platforms.
- Decompose and compose feature requirements with L6 base machine teams that impact the autonomy layer.
- Work with validation teams to ensure integrated features work as planned.
- Deliver field data kit support.
- Technical growth in Autonomy and Base Machine interfaces.
