We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Shipping and Receiving Specialist to manage the daily operations of incoming and outgoing shipments. This role is critical to maintaining accurate inventory, ensuring timely deliveries, and supporting overall warehouse efficiency. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong organizational skills, and is committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety.
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in logistics or relevant fields
- 1–3 years of experience in shipping, receiving
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across various teams
- Familiarity with ERP systems and material tracking software, with a focus on internal inventory management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
- Forklift certification preferred
- Comply with company and area Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements
- Able to work effectively in both office and production environments
- Prompt and regular attendance within our on-site operations
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists
- Create supplier shipping documents meeting all LH Battery and Government regulations
- Prepare outgoing shipments according to company and carrier standards to ensure 100% on-time shipping to the customer plant
- Maintain accurate records of shipments and inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Coordinate with carriers and vendors to schedule pickups and deliveries
- Label, sort, and organize inventory in designated storage areas
- Conduct routine cycle counts and assist with full inventory audits
- Create and maintain accurate records for the container yard
- Manage critical ship times, production schedules, and return packaging to ensure no impact to upstream and downstream customers
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Communicate discrepancies, damages, or delays to appropriate departments
- Support other warehouse functions as needed
