Job Description
Required Education:
- B.S. required in Biological Sciences/Biochemistry or related discipline.
- M.S. required in Biological Sciences/Biochemistry or related discipline.
- Two or more years of experience in a laboratory technician role (can include experience gained during M.S. thesis work).
- Demonstrable experience with bio fluid sample handling and analytical techniques.
- Excellent organizational, wet lab (pipetting) and laboratory skills (ion chromatography and ELISA assays).
- Must have a pro-active work style, able to multitask, and be flexible to work in a high-performance and ever-changing environment.
- Self-starter with good interpersonal communication skills and ability to work with various personalities and work styles.
- Flexibility and willingness to work during non-traditional hours (e.g., early morning) as needed depending upon research protocol (approximately 15-20%).
As a Research & Development (R&D) Scientist on the team based you will support technology initiatives that advance our broader Living Labs and Gatorade business agendas. You will play a key role in executing and managing clinical research studies focused on hydration science, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and ensuring research is conducted to the highest ethical and scientific standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage clinical trials related to hydration science, including protocol refinement, participant recruitment, and study execution.
- Demonstrating knowledge of exercise physiology, sports nutrition science, laboratory testing, research studies guidelines.
- Assisting with the conduct of all sports science testing, including elite athlete and clinical research trial participants, which includes a variety of lab- and field-based assessments such as metabolic, body composition, biochemical, and neuromuscular assessments.
- Helping collect data, organize data sheets, prepare reports, enter data into spreadsheets and database, and create/file study regulatory documents (i.e. CRF) in compliance with standards for clinical research and service provision.
- Exhibiting strong communication skills with key internal and external partners.
- Effectively managing projects, including coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. Oversee all aspects of projects. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and amplify project deliverables to appropriate leadership and internal stakeholders.
- Assisting with study participant recruiting and scheduling/coordinating visits to the lab as needed.
