General Statement of Duties:
Work Team Support Specialists provide residents emotional support and help them achieve and maintain their highest level of independence. This is accomplished by supporting their individualized goals through our work team activities, group therapies, and engagement in social activities. The Housekeeping Work Team Support Specialist assists in the Housekeeping Department of the Resident Work Training Program with the objective of enabling residents to improve their capacity to achieve the objective of enabling assigned residents to improve their capacity to achieve competitive employment and their capacity to maintain healthy social relationships.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Supervise a work team of residents enabling them to perform successfully in a job setting.
- Report any change in behavior of residents to supervisor or member of the clinical team.
- Assist residents in maintaining cleanliness in their rooms.
- Assist in the cleaning of hallways, stairs, bathrooms, and office spaces.
- Empty trash and garbage containers.
- Help prepare and clean for special events.
- Document in resident charts and participate in treatment planning.
- Provide personal care, protection and supervision to the residents.
- Provide transportation for residents as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to meet the emotional, physical, intellectual and social needs of the residents
- Demonstrates reasonable judgment and sound decision-making.
- Capability to handle emergency situations and demonstrates flexibility and the ability to respond appropriately to unexpected requests and situations.
- Drivers license and safe driving record.
- Ability to meet certification in CPI, CPR, and First Aid.
