Position Summary: The Sheet Metal Foreman plays a crucial role for leading and supervising the sheet metal crew to ensure that sheet metal work, including roofing, cladding, flashing, and other metal components is performed accurately, efficiently, and safely according to project specifications and industry standards. This role involves day to day operations to lead, oversee, collaborate with stakeholders  and develop team members, setting standards on directing and coordinating all activities of a project. The Sheet Metal Foreman is instrumental to ensure seamless integration of sheet metal work into the overall construction process. 

The Blueprint for Success - Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Strategic Oversight

• Lead the creation of innovative and detailed work plans and schedules for sheet metal tasks, ensuring clear and effective communication with all stakeholders.

• Review project specifications, plans, and drawings to determine requirements, proactively identifying potential bottlenecks and developing solutions.

• Review plans and specifications rigorously to ensure all required scopes are executed to the highest standards.

• Identify and overcome challenges in sheet metal work with innovative and effective solutions.

• Make informed and strategic decisions to keep projects on track, within budget, and on schedule.

Team Leadership & Workforce Development

• Inspire and manage all sheet metal crews, assigning teams to projects, tracking progress, and ensuring high-quality workmanship.

• Lead the project team with vision and motivation, driving members to meet and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and professionalism.

• Conduct dynamic and engaging team meetings to communicate project updates, safety protocols, and performance expectations.

• Ensure resource availability and optimal allocation, including managing overall staffing needs.

Quality Assurance & Technical Expertise

• Ensure all sheet metal work meets or exceeds industry standards and project specifications.

• Perform rigorous inspections and quality control checks, promptly identifying and resolving issues.

• Conduct thorough site inspections to verify proper sheet metal installation methods.

• Provide expert technical support and guidance to personnel, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of learning.

• Drive collaboration with sales, estimators, and operations to verify the accuracy of project designs before work begins.

Safety & Compliance

• Champion strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations, conducting regular safety meetings and proactively addressing concerns.

• Ensuring that safety policies are strictly adhered to by all field personnel.

• Foster a culture of safety and professionalism through continuous improvement and skill development.

Resource & Financial Management

• Strategically manage the procurement and inventory of sheet metal materials, tools, and equipment to ensure optimal use and minimize waste.

• Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and build strong relationships.

• Drive cost-effectiveness and efficiency, continuously seeking opportunities to optimize processes and resource allocation.

Communication & Documentation

• Partner with customers to ensure deliverables are met and maintain schedule requirements.

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, addressing concerns and providing updates on project progress.

• Discuss solutions directly with customers and take responsibility for resolving issues on job sites.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date.

• Measure project performance using state-of-the-art systems and tools to provide insights for improvement.

• Compile detailed daily reports, including photos, to provide customers with transparent updates.

• Create and manage project schedules in collaboration with the Project Manager to complete punch lists and reports.

Salary : $40 - $47
