Role Overview
Ronbow is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician / Equipment Technician to support daily operations in our cabinet manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment, minimizing downtime, and ensuring machines are operating safely and reliably.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with cabinet or woodworking factory equipment, understands production pressures, and can respond quickly and calmly when machines fail.
This is a working, floor-based role—not a desk position.
Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment Maintenance & Repair
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of cabinet manufacturing equipment, including:
- CNC machines
- Edgebanders
- Sanding equipment
- Drilling or boring machines
- Conveyors, lifts, and material handling equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic control issues.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns to restore production safely and efficiently.
2. Preventive Maintenance
- Execute routine preventive maintenance to reduce unexpected downtime.
- Inspect machines for wear, alignment issues, leaks, vibration, or unsafe conditions.
- Maintain basic maintenance logs and document repairs and recurring issues.
- Identify equipment at risk of failure and escalate concerns early.
3. Production Support & Coordination
- Work closely with production teams to prioritize repairs based on production impact.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors regarding downtime, repair timelines, and risks.
- Support machine setup adjustments when needed to improve reliability or safety.
- Assist with installation, relocation, or modification of equipment as required.
4. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance work is performed safely and in compliance with company safety policies.
- Lockout/tagout equipment properly during repairs.
- Identify and escalate unsafe equipment conditions.
- Support OSHA and safety compliance efforts related to equipment operation.
Qualifications
Required
- 3 years of hands-on experience as a maintenance technician or equipment technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with cabinet, woodworking, or similar production machinery.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills; basic electrical and pneumatic knowledge.
- Comfortable working on the production floor in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize urgent issues.
Preferred
- Experience with CNC equipment used in cabinet manufacturing.
- Familiarity with PLC basics (diagnostic level, not programming).
- Experience in preventive maintenance planning.
- Prior experience in a wood products, cabinetry, or furniture factory.
