What are the responsibilities and job description for the Brighten the day of a child in the hospital position at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Idaho?
Since 1988, the family of any hospitalized or ill child receiving treatment at a Boise medical facility has found a home away from home at the Idaho Ronald McDonald House. Families come from across Idaho, Eastern Oregon, Northern Nevada and beyond. The House serves hundreds of families each year that face many challenges with their sick children.
Providing these families with a safe, supportive, welcoming place to stay is the reason the Ronald McDonald House exists. The staff, volunteers and Board of Directors help to meet basic needs and provide more than just the necessities. With the help of all the supporters of the House, families are provided shelter, food, support, and care.
,
Time spent in the hospital can be stressful for the entire family. We are able to alleviate a lot of the burden by providing a supportive and comfortable place at no cost for families with sick or injured children at EIRMC to enjoy prepared meals, relax, shower, do some laundry or stay the night.
In addition to meeting basic needs, we love when we can represent our community's generosity by passing along gifts to children in the hospital or to the siblings who have to stay at home during a stressful time. Having a variety of toys on hand helps us find the right toy for each child.
Toys may include dolls, figurines, play sets, cars, LEGO kits, etc. Because of the hospital environment, we request all items be new with any original packaging.
If you have questions about toys, our Family Room, or our mission, please feel free to contact us! We are so grateful for your support!
