Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression
- Schedule and confirm dental appointments
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility verification.
- Collect payments and preauthorizations
- Manage patient records while maintaining HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards
- Assist with patient intake procedures and update medical history records accurately
- Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth clinic operations and care plans
- Maintain filing systems and organize medical records efficiently
- Support office management tasks such as data entry, typing reports, and document preparation using Microsoft Office tools
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA guidelines and documentation standards
Skills
- Proven experience in dental or medical office administration, front desk duties, or healthcare support roles
- Familiarity with dental terminology, and billing processes, including Medicare and insurance claims processing
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and data entry (10 key typing)
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members
- Knowledge of health information management standards and clinic experience preferred
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills for managing medical records, documentation review, and office management responsibilities
