Williamsburg House of Mercy is seeking a Program & Volunteer Coordinator. This position serves as the central administrative and scheduling hub for all volunteer engagement across Williamsburg House of Mercy. This role splits time between managing the universal volunteer pipeline, inputting critical program data, and providing professional frontline reception coverage. By keeping schedules full and data flawless, this position ensures our shelter, food programs, and family services run smoothly and remain fully compliant with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in volunteer coordination, front-office reception, data entry, or nonprofit program support.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and experience utilizing database or CRM platforms (experience with Bloomerang is a major plus).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Comfort speaking to diverse crowds during orientations, navigating front-desk dynamics with emotional maturity, and enforcing professional boundaries.
- Physical & License Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, assist with event setups, and stand/walk in a warehouse environment. Must possess a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and total comfort occasionally operating organizational cargo vans.
Work hours are 8:30 to 4:30 M-F. Occasional evenings and weekends for special events.
