Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Uphold the mission and Catholic values of Queen of The Clergy Residence
- Assists with cleaning the kitchen serving and dining areas.
- Sanitizes tabletops, kitchen equipment, cleans floors and discards trash in dumpster.
- Maintains all kitchen work areas and washes down the dish machine and floor mats.
- Cleans pots and pans, assembling, maintaining and breaking down the dish machine, to prevent blockages of necessary water flow.
- Refills and maintains cleaning solutions for dishwasher.
- Maintains sanitary and safety standards, organization and conditions of dishes, utensils, glasses, pots, pans, equipment and kitchen in accordance with the guidelines established by Executive Chef, Food and Drug Administration regulations and state and local health inspectors.
- Stores and stocks supplies in a safe sanitary and organized manner.
- Places clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in proper storage areas with easy access for cooks to plate meals.
- Assists chefs as requested including but not limited to deliveries and storing of food and sanitation supplies.
- Assists resident assistants as requested including but not limited to serving and clearing of plates, glassware, and silverware from tables.
- Requests supplies and equipment as needed for cleaning and dishwashing duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn, standard cleaning methods and equipment used in kitchen area.
- Previous dishwashing and utility experience preferred.
- Familiarity with cleaning/janitorial equipment supplies and their safe use.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions in English.
- Ability to maintain a safe work environment and conducts all tasks in accordance with safe work standards.
- Demonstrated ability to keep up with a high volume of dishes.
- Excellent attendance and ability to be at work on time as provided by the work schedule.
- Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with fellow employees, residents, vendors and visitors.
- Ability to be in contact with cleaning, dishwasher and other chemicals in performing responsibilities.
- Must practice good grooming standards.
- Continuous physical effort required including frequent bending, walking, and standing.
- Ability to lift and physically move up to 29 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to lift/transport 30-50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Adhere to the U.S.C.C.B. Charter for Safe Environments Policy for Virtus compliance and adhere to the civil laws and reporting procedures
