About the Role
RoMac Building Supply has an immediate opening for a Moulder Operator Helper/Apprentice in Leesburg. This position supports the millwork production team by learning how to operate machinery that cuts and shapes lumber into custom profiles. The role is ideal for a mechanically inclined individual looking to grow into a skilled trade with on-the-job training.
Responsibilities
- Assist in ripping down rough-cut lumber to required specifications
- Help with setup and adjustment of knife heads on machines
- Run wood stock through the moulder and stack finished product
- Inspect finished product for quality and accuracy
- Maintain accurate production records including quantity, footage, profile, species, and customer details
- Ensure safe operation of machinery and report maintenance needs
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Ability to perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals
- Ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machinery operation
- Attention to detail and quality control
- Experience in a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment preferred
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude
- Ability to work safely and follow company procedures
