Civil Litigation Associate Attorney

Rollins, Smalkin, Richards & Mackie, LLC seeks attorney for hire. The firm is accepting submissions from candidates with 1-6 years' experience and licensed to practice in Maryland. Though negotiable, the range for the initial salary is $85-$120K annually, based on experience.

Duties

- Conducting legal research using resources such as Lexis-Nexis

- Drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs

- Participating in client meetings and interviews

- Conducting negotiations on behalf of clients

- Preparing for and attending court hearings and trials

- Collaborating with senior attorneys to develop case strategies

Experience

- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

- Admission to the Maryland state bar

- Admission to the DC bar, preferred but not required

- Strong legal research and writing skills

- Experience with litigation procedures and practices

- Familiarity with legal drafting and document preparation

- Proficiency in using legal research and billing tools

- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide sound advice

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
