Qualifications

Qualifications:  Prefer high school diploma.  Ability to maintain confidentiality; work independently and be self-motivated; exercise tact and discretion; work effectively under time pressure and follow written and/or oral instructions.  Knowledge of cleaning products, material and cleaning machines, health and safety practices, workplace hazardous materials information system and safety data sheets a plus.  Ability to perform manual tasks requiring lifting of 75 pounds or more and operate cleaning equipment required.

Primary Function:  Vacuum areas with carpeting; sweep and mop tile, linoleum, and stone floors; empty, sanitize and re-line trash receptacles; clean and sanitize bathroom and bathroom fixtures; clean over-bed tables, phones, light switches, windows and blinds; replace disposable items:  toilet tissue, soap, garbage can liners; clean beds, mattresses, and call cords; collect trash and remove recyclable materials from offices and public areas; perform pest control duties; collect and remove bio-hazard for shipment, clean and ready surgery rooms; routine cleaning in OR, clean autoclaves, doctor lounge and dressing rooms; clean and maintain recovery room;  stock linen and scrubs for nurses and doctors.  Receive linen, sort linen, stock throughout hospital and doctor's offices; ready soiled linen for pickup.
