JOB TITLE/LOCATION:Assistant Controller – Oxford, CT Purpose & Scope: The Assistant Controller will assist the Corporate Controller to direct the financial affairs of the organization and participate in the preparation of financial documents to be filed with the Security Exchange Commission (SEC). The position involves the maintenance of internal control procedures to protect assets and provide accurate and timely data for management. A strong technical accounting background is required.Responsibilities:Coordinate the monthly Corporate close process, including the preparation of the company’s consolidated monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.Coordinate the preparation of the company’s annual financial statements and supporting schedules.Manage the financial statement audit relationship and coordination efforts.Lead special projects as they arise (i.e. acquisitions, restructurings, adoption of new ASU’s).Provide input and analysis on treasury strategy.Prepare technical accounting memos to support the company’s position on new topics.Support technical accounting issues that arise throughout the business.Attendance at work is an essential function of the job. Experience and Skillset:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance with 10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment or any combination of experience, education and training which would provide the level of knowledge, skill, and ability required. Certified Public Accountant Preferred (CPA)Knowledgeable with accounting and auditing principles and practices; and principles of financial administration including budgeting, reporting, taxation and revenue.Ability to operate computers and various software programs, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.Ability to examine and verify financial documents and reports; ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing; ability to prepare a variety of financial statements, reports and analyses.RBC Bearings offers a competitive benefit package.
