Join our dynamic team as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician and become a vital part of delivering comfort and efficiency across residential, commercial, and industrial properties. Your mechanical expertise and field service experience will drive your success as you work on a variety of equipment including air conditioning units, RTU, chillers, boilers, refrigeration systems, and ventilation setups. Qualifications: Expert in all maintenance using various hand tools, such as electric portable drills, screw guns, hammer drills, manifold gauges, Volt/Ohm meter, amp meter, capacitance meter, and other measuring devices. State certified in refrigerant recovery systems. Thorough knowledge and understanding of all types of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. General computer knowledge. Must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds, climb, push, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach. Must possess good eyesight including depth perception to perform at optimum safety level.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Perform the following primary and secondary duties.
2. All other duties as assigned.
3. Perform various maintenance functions to provide a viable support group.
Primary Duties
1. Performs refrigeration functions such as: Maintains cooling in all buildings by means of both computer monitoring and calibration and physical calibration and adjustments Maintains and troubleshoots cooling problems in all cooling systems, refrigerator, and freezer systems Installs HVAC units, ductwork, grilles, etc. Licensed for freon recapture and reutilization.
2. Performs boiler functions such as:
- Maintains proper boiler operation in all buildings by means of both computer monitoring and calibration and physical calibration and adjustments
- Maintains and troubleshoots heating problems in all pressurized systems
- Monitors open and closed loop system chemicals and adds as necessary
- Maintains pumps, motors, valves, monitors, and gauges as necessary
Needs state certification for combustible gas
3. Performs electrical functions such as:
- Troubleshooting systems that include complex circuitry such as solid-state kitchen controls, energy management systems, and motor controllers.
- Installation of electrical circuits, including Y and delta 208, 277, 240, and 480 voltages. Installs and calibrates motor controllers, contactors, and limit switches.
- Lays out and calculates project components
- Sizes and installs conduit and raceways
Installs motors, breakers, and disconnects
4. District Readiness
Guarantees that the school district is in an operational state by checking all systems prior to school time by:
- Monitors each school’s readiness by 6:30 A.M. -
- Checks boiler operation in winter, water chillers in summer -
- Check all school freezers
