Overview
We are seeking a motivated Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Apprentice to join our team. This paid apprenticeship offers hands-on experience in HVAC systems, plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical maintenance. As an integral part of our team, you will develop essential skills while supporting the installation, repair, and maintenance of heating and cooling systems in residential and commercial settings.
Duties
- Assist senior technicians with installing, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, and ventilation equipment
- Learn to read schematics and interpret HVAC design plans to support system setup and repairs
- Support field service operations by performing routine maintenance on HVAC/R equipment and appliances
- Gain experience in plumbing connections, refrigeration systems—including ammonia refrigeration—and property maintenance tasks
- Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters to identify electrical issues within HVAC systems
- Participate in welding and equipment repair tasks under supervision to develop mechanical skills
- Support safety protocols during all field activities, including proper handling of refrigerants and other hazardous materials
Experience
- Prior experience or familiarity with construction sites or property maintenance is a plus
- Service technician experience or exposure to HVAC/R systems enhances your application
- Knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing, refrigeration, or boiler operation is advantageous
- Mechanical knowledge or mechanic experience is beneficial for understanding complex equipment systems
- Ability to operate tools such as welders and ohmmeters confidently
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is preferred for field service mobility
- Strong interest in learning HVAC/R technology with a proactive attitude toward safety and quality work
