GENERAL SUMMARY:

Founded in 1894, Roland Park Country School is an independent day school for girls in grades K-12, with a co-ed preschool for children ages 6 weeks and up. The school is located in Roland Park, a residential neighborhood in northern Baltimore City, on a 21-acre campus. Students are provided resources to follow their curiosities, pursue their passions, and challenge themselves to excel in an academically rigorous environment. RPCS faculty cultivate an environment where girls grow into confident, resilient leaders who seek to make a difference. Roland Park Country School seeks a full time School Store Manager to oversee daily operations for the School Store selling items such as school gear, spirit apparel, school supplies, snacks, and other sundries. This position manages inventory and orders supplies, manages sales, and provides excellent customer service to all students and parents and members of the community. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Provides excellent customer service and resolves concerns with professionalism and respect.
  • Manages the budget for the School Store
  • Monitors inventory levels, ensures products are stocked, and orders products. 
  • Conducts annual inventory period.
  • Ensures the store operates smoothly and efficiently, from open to close.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and visually appealing store environment.
  • Maintains positive relations with product suppliers and vendors.
  • Implements creative sales strategies and promotions.
  • Analyzes sales receipts and manages cash handling and credit card processing. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Order Management:
    1. Process all online and in store orders accurately and efficiently.
    2. Ensure timely fulfillment and shipment of orders.
    3. Communicate with customers regarding order status, including any delays or issues.
  2. Inventory Management:
    1. Monitor and manage store inventory levels.
    2. Update online product listings with accurate descriptions, pricing, and availability.
    3. Conduct regular inventory checks and report discrepancies.
  3. Customer Service:
    1. Provide exceptional customer service through email, phone, or chat.
    2. Address customer inquiries, concerns, and returns in a timely and professional manner.
    3. Assist customers in navigating the online store and completing purchases.
  4. Store Operations:
    1. Assist in creating and implementing marketing strategies to drive online sales.
    2. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the fulfillment area.
  5. Volunteer Cultivation and Management: 
    1. Cultivate, schedule and manage parent volunteers to assist in the day to day operation of the school store.
  6. Liaison with “The Bistro” :
    1. Serve as the liaison between RPCS, the school store, and the Bistro to facilitate the coordination of snack food service without competition.
  7. Technical Support:
    1. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to the online store platform.
    2. Work with the IT department or external vendors to resolve technical issues when necessary.
  8. Reporting:
    1. Generate sales reports and provide insights to improve the online shopping experience.
    2. Provide inventory reports as requested.
  9. Compliance:
    1. Ensure compliance with school policies and procedures, including data privacy and security regulations.
    2. Follow all safety and operational procedures of the school.
  10. Other Duties as assigned

COMPENSATION DISCLOSURE: 

In accordance with Maryland's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, we are committed to providing transparent wage information for all posted job opportunities. The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000 annually. Compensation is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

Additionally, this position includes a comprehensive benefits package and other forms of compensation, including:

Tuition remission available as well as tuition reimbursement for graduate education.
  • Paid time off for full time and full time reduced employees: vacation days (for 12 month employees), sick leave, personal days, winter break & spring break based on school calendar schedule. Flexible summer schedule for 12 month employees. 
  • Retirement plan: 403(b) retirement plan with employer contributions (required minimum hours worked after 1 year of service.)

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Previous experience in retail, customer service, or e-commerce preferred
  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity with online shopping platforms (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce) and basic inventory management software and point of sale systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move boxes weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evening during peak seasons and/or events.

  • A commitment to delivering exceptional service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication skills communicating respectfully, effectively in working with faculty, staff, customers, and suppliers.
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and make quick, effective decisions.
  • Proficient with Google Suite and other related software.
  • Manages many tasks and projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
  • Creates action plans to meet divisional goals and objectives. Conducts periodic reviews of progress and measures against goals.
  • Consider a broad range of internal and external factors when solving problems. Grasps complexities and perceives relationships among different problems or issues. 

Salary : $50,000 - $55,000
