Veterinary Technician – Emergency Veterinary Hospital

Base Pay: $19.50 – $24.50 per hour

  • $2/hr weekend differential
  • $3/hr overnight differential

Job Type: Full-time or Part-time

Schedule:

  • Full-time: 3 x 13-hour shifts
  • Clinic Hours: Friday–Monday | 24 hours

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during exams, emergency procedures, and surgeries
  • Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during procedures and recovery
  • Perform imaging, laboratory testing, and medication administration under supervision
  • Accurately document medical records and client communications
  • Provide hands-on patient care, including feeding, monitoring vitals, and assessing behavior
  • Safely and compassionately handle and restrain animals
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safety throughout the hospital
  • Support inventory management and equipment readiness
  • Provide excellent client service, including billing and payment processing
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure efficient hospital operations

Qualifications

  • Veterinary Technician experience preferred; all qualified candidates encouraged to apply
  • Interest or experience in emergency, critical care, surgery, anesthesia, and aseptic techniques
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Compassion for both patients and their people
