Role:
The Analytics Semantic Architect is responsible for designing, governing, and advancing Rogue Credit Union's enterprise semantic layer and analytics catalog which are foundational components that enable trusted, consistent, and business-aligned reporting and analytics. This role serves as the architect and owner of enterprise semantic structures, translating business definitions and logic into clear technical specifications that guide the work of the Analytics Data Engineer and support enterprise-wide reusability. The Semantic Architect works collaboratively with BI Analysts, the Analytics Engineer, and business stakeholders to align terminology, validate metrics, and ensure high-quality semantic structures that simplify data use and improve decision-making. As the expert of Rogue's semantic architecture, analytics metadata, and analytics catalog, this role establishes the standards, processes, and documentation needed to support a mature, scalable, and governed analytics ecosystem.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
35% Architect Rogue’s enterprise semantic layer and define the business friendly structures, including metrics, dimensions, hierarchies, and terms, that support consistent analytics across the credit union. Apply dimensional modeling principles to design clear relationships between facts and dimensions so business processes are accurately represented for reporting. Produce precise technical specifications and source to target mappings that enable the Analytics Data Engineer to build reusable, high quality master data. Ensure semantic logic is implemented correctly within Rogue’s medallion architecture and optimize models for clarity, usability, and performance. As the creator of Rogue’s first semantic layer, establish the standards, processes, and documentation required for scalable and successful enterprise adoption.
25% Engage stakeholders to clarify terminology, business logic, and data needs. Translate conceptual requirements into precise technical documentation for the Analytics Engineer. Ensure semantic models accurately represent business processes and support consistent, enterprise-wide use.
20% Lead the launch and ongoing ownership of Rogue’s Analytics Catalog. Maintain metadata, including definitions, glossary entries, lineage, tags, and quality, and oversee stewardship assignments. Manage the governance-driven certification process that identifies trusted, validated datasets for enterprise use. Ensure metadata in analytics tools remains aligned with the catalog and semantic layer.
15% Partner with data stewards and governance participants to align semantic models with enterprise definitions, terminology, and data quality standards. Document dataset and model dependencies to support impact analysis. Guide the organization toward consistent language and logic, reducing ambiguity and conflicting interpretations of key metrics.
5% Proactively performs other duties as needed or assigned.
Knowledge & Skills:
Experience: Three to five years of experience in semantic data modeling, metadata management, or business data architecture, with demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications. Experience designing conceptual and logical analytic data models using dimensional modeling principles to define facts, dimensions, hierarchies, and relationships in support of reporting. Experience defining and documenting business terms, KPIs, and reporting logic within semantic models or data catalogs to ensure alignment between business expectations and technical assets. Familiarity with metadata or analytics catalog platforms such as Alation, Collibra, or Atlan is highly desirable. General familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI and SQL-based environments to support effective collaboration with analysts and engineers. In addition to experience in financial services, exposure to modern analytics platforms, particularly Microsoft Fabric, is preferred.
Education: A bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Analytics, or a related technical field that demonstrates the competencies required for this role.

Skilled in facilitating cross-functional alignment by leading discussions on terminology, definitions, and business logic, while maintaining high analytical rigor focused on accuracy, data consistency, and validation. Effectively communicates and builds relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, applying systems thinking to identify dependencies across datasets, reports, and business processes. Proactively solves problems by anticipating downstream impacts and developing scalable solutions, showing adaptability and comfort with ambiguity when creating new processes, standards, and tools. Committed to governance and disciplined data practices that foster trust and consistency across enterprise analytics.
Physical Requirements: Some lifting required (up to 30 pounds), continuous sitting, occasional standing and occasional walking. Finger dexterity while using computer. Occasional talking and hearing in person and on the telephone. Continuous clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and continuous clarity of vision at 20 feet or more.
Work Environment: This job is an exempt position that requires flexibility in scheduling tasks and projects. The employee must independently monitor hours and judge the time needed to be spent on applicable duties. Employee must be capable of adjusting to unpredictable schedules proactively. As a direct representative of the Credit Union, the employee must conduct and present themselves courteously and professionally. Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, i.e., robbery.

Salary : $89,261 - $111,576
