Job Description
We are a growing construction and excavation company serving Southwest Minnesota, seeking reliable Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team. Primary equipment includes excavators, dozers, and skid loaders. We handle a variety of projects including site preparation, grading, trenching, land clearing, drainage work, road building, and general earthmoving for residential, commercial, agricultural, and municipal jobs.
Experience is strongly preferred, but we are willing to train motivated individuals with a good attitude, strong work ethic, and mechanical aptitude. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build or advance their skills in heavy equipment operation in a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate excavators, dozers, and skid loaders to perform tasks such as digging, grading, backfilling, loading trucks, site leveling, and material handling.
- Read and interpret basic plans, stakes, and grade markings to complete work accurately.
- Perform daily equipment inspections, basic maintenance, and report any issues to supervisors.
- Follow all safety protocols, OSHA standards, and company policies to maintain a safe job site.
- Load/unload materials, excavate trenches, and assist with other site tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience operating heavy equipment excavator, dozer, skid steer/loader preferred – at least 1–2 years ideal, but we will train the right person!
- Valid driver's license required (CDL a plus but not required).
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions typical of Minnesota.
- Strong attention to safety and detail.
- Reliable transportation
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and good communication skills.
