Position Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Excavation Supervisor to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive hands-on experience in excavation and earthmoving operations, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality on every job site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a crew of excavator operators, laborers, and equipment operators on daily excavation projects
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications and timelines
- Coordinate daily tasks, equipment usage, and material deliveries
- Perform pre-job and ongoing site inspections to identify hazards and maintain compliance with safety regulations
- Read and interpret blueprints, grading plans, and project drawings
- Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and crew members
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations at all times
- Troubleshoot and resolve on-site issues as they arise
- Maintain accurate daily reports, time sheets, and equipment logs
- Train, mentor, and develop crew members
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in excavation, grading, and heavy equipment operations
- Previous supervisory or lead experience required (3 years preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, and related equipment
- Ability to read civil plans, grading plans, and specifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL preferred but not required)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift up to 75 lbs when needed
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work overtime
