Position Summary:

We are hiring an Estimator or Senior Estimator to support large-scale heavy civil and infrastructure projects based out of Pomona, California. This role will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and supporting pursuit efforts for public works projects throughout Southern California. The position is well suited for experienced heavy civil estimators as well as Project Engineers or Project Managers with strong field and cost experience who are looking to transition into estimating. This is a full-time, office-based role with long-term growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for heavy civil infrastructure projects.
• Analyze plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate pricing.
• Solicit, review, and analyze subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Develop bid summaries, scope reviews, and pricing clarifications.
• Collaborate with project management and field teams to validate means and methods, production rates, and constructability.
• Support value engineering, risk analysis, and alternative pricing strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews and proposal discussions.
• Maintain historical cost data and assist with continuous improvement of estimating practices.
• Support post-bid handoff to project teams to ensure estimate accuracy and scope alignment.

Qualifications:

• 6 years of experience in heavy civil infrastructure construction or estimating.
• Direct estimating experience preferred, but Project Engineers or Project Managers with strong cost, field, and bid exposure are encouraged to apply.
• Experience with transportation, water, wastewater, utility, or public works projects.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, cost drivers, and production rates.
• Proficiency with estimating and construction software such as HCSS HeavyBid, Excel, Bluebeam, and Procore.
• Ability to interpret contract documents, technical specifications, and drawings.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $145,000.00 - $161,000.00 per year
