The Opportunity
We are partnering with a construction firm in the Greater Boston area is seeking a Payroll & HR Manager to lead payroll operations. This is perfect role for a process-oriented professional who enjoys the complexities of payroll management and thrives in a leadership-focused support role. This person will be the expert on bridging the field operations and financial reporting.
What You’ll Do
- Process high-volume weekly payroll, ensuring 100% accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
- Manage certified payroll submissions, monthly reporting, and act as the primary point of contact for audits.
- Utilize Miter and BuildOps to streamline payroll and HRIS workflows, ensuring data integrity across platforms.
- Develop and refine internal processes for weekly general ledger transactions, including the tracking of accrued payroll expenses.
- Serve as the point person for employee onboarding, business/health insurance claims, and resolving personnel-related inquiries with professionalism and discretion.
- Act as a dependable team player and a communicative leader within the office setting, helping to maintain high energy and a collaborative culture.
What You Need to Succeed
- Proven experience processing payroll specifically within the construction industry.
- Hands-on experience with Miter (PR/HRIS) and BuildOps is highly preferred. Proficiency in Sage Intacct is a significant plus.
- Previous experience successfully navigating adits and maintaining compliant records.
- A solid grasp of basic accounting principles, including quarterly tax basics and payroll accruals.
- High energy, extreme attention to detail
