What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Roessel Joy?
We are partnering with a construction company in the Worcester, MA area looking to hire a Controller to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and team management. We are requiring larger construction company experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the accounting team
- Oversee month-end close, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Manage the consolidation of financial statements across entities
- Coordinate audit preparation and support external auditors
- Oversee financial reporting and ensure accuracy of financial statements
- Strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting procedures
- Support ad hoc financial projects and business initiatives as needed
Qualifications
- 5-8 years of Construction Accounting experience
- Prior Controller or senior accounting leadership experience for a larger Construction company
- Construction industry experience preferred
- Strong month-end close and financial reporting experience
- Experience with financial consolidations and multi-entity accounting
- Audit preparation and support experience
- Proven staff management and team development skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Compensation: $150K-$175K depending on experience
