Position Summary
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of guest rooms and public areas to ensure a comfortable and pleasant stay for all guests. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning and organizational tasks in accordance with hotel standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Transport linens, towels, toiletries, and cleaning supplies using wheeled carts
- Clean guest rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and other assigned areas to meet health and safety standards
- Make beds, replenish linens, towels, and guest amenities
- Empty wastebaskets and remove trash to designated disposal areas
- Restock supplies such as drinking glasses, linens, writing materials, and bathroom items
- Maintain storage rooms and housekeeping carts in a clean, organized, and well-stocked condition
- Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and equipment
- Vacuum and clean carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture, and draperies
- Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork as needed
- Hang draperies and clean window blinds
- Report any damage, safety concerns, lost and found items, or maintenance issues to supervisors
- Assist with outdoor cleanliness, including removal of debris from walkways, parking areas, and pool areas
- Sort, count, label, and store clean linens in designated linen closets
Education and Experience
- No prior housekeeping experience required
- On-the-job training provided
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry housekeeping supplies as needed
