Description
The Marina Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the marina, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, operational efficiency, safety compliance, and revenue growth. This role leads marina staff, manages dock operations, coordinates with multiple resort departments, and ensures the marina reflects the high standards of Rod ’N’ Reel Resort.
Key Accountabilities
· Actively manage and hold hourly team accountable for consistent adherence to Rod ‘N’ Reel’s quality standards, operating systems/procedures, and safety regulations/requirements
· Role model and actively influence the behavior of others to ensure Rod ‘N’ Reel’s core values and mission statement are reflected in daily practice, promoting a safe and healthy work environment and superior guest experience.
· Develop, sustain, and innovate high-performance work teams.
· Achieve profitability of the marina through effective financial management.
· Ensure the marina is properly maintained.
· Represent, support, and protect the Rod ‘N’ Reel’s brand.
Responsibilities
· Teach, maintain, and regularly coach hourly team members on maintaining Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort’s boating and marina standards.
· Ensure the marina is properly staffed for all shifts.
· Ensure compliance with marina policies, procedures, established rules, regulations, protocols, and practices.
· Ensure all inventory processes and procedures are completed accurately.
· Monitor labor costs, expenses, and budget performance
· Identify opportunities to increase revenue and improve operational efficiency
· Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and reporting
· Complete accident reports promptly in the event that a guest or team member is injured.
· Facilitate complete and ongoing communication among ownership for all operational issues, concerns, or changes.
· Ensure all payroll-related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time, and in accordance with Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort policies and procedures.
· Manage marina revenue streams, including slip rentals, fuel sales, and retail offerings.
· Manage the hiring, supervision, and development of team members.
· Ensure complete and proper documentation for all personnel actions (hiring, performance review, disciplines, etc.).
Qualifications:
· 3–5 years of experience in marina operations, marine services, or hospitality leadership
· Familiar with applicable Marina industry laws, codes, safety regulations, and permit requirements.
· Experience with marina management systems and POS systems is a plus
· Demonstrated track record of strong leadership and ability to lead high performing teams.
· High-level organizational skills with multi-task capabilities
· High attention to detail and follow through.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Dependable, reliable, and highly motivated
