Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly of metal components.
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and
welding techniques to join various metals in accordance with ASME codes & standards. - Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and sheet metal tools to cut, shape, and assemble materials.
- Operate rigging equipment and forklifts safely to move heavy materials and fabricated parts around the shop or construction site.
- Measure dimensions precisely using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices; perform basic math calculations for fabrication accuracy.
- Fabricate ductwork, piping systems, and structural components for construction or manufacturing projects.
- Maintain a clean work environment by adhering to safety protocols; conduct routine inspections of equipment and materials.
- Assist with pipe threading, machining, soldering, and assembly tasks as needed on various projects.
Experience
- Proven construction site experience with hands-on welding and fabrication tasks in industrial or commercial settings.
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, FCAW welding techniques; experience with
welding preferred. - Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with using calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment.
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards related to welding and fabrication practices.
- Mechanical knowledge including pipe threading, machining operations, rigging procedures, and assembly processes.
- Experience working with sheet metal products such as ductwork or structural components in manufacturing or construction environments.
