Job Summary
We are looking to add a dedicated and hardworking Landscape Laborer to join our team and contribute to a variety of outdoor projects for the upcoming spring/summer/fall schedule.
This role involves assisting with landscape installation, sprinkler install, xeriscaping, irrigation repairs/installment, hardscaping, building retaining walls (both block and boulders), pavers and flagstone installation and other construction tasks to ensure the beauty and functionality of our clients’ outdoor spaces.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working outdoors, landscaping installation and equipment operation, with a focus on safety, communication and quality. Prior experience with hand tools, power tools, and equipment such as excavators, skid steers and towing trailers is PREFERRED but not required.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for those interested in developing skills in landscaping installation, irrigation, xeriscape and hardscape installation, with plenty of room to grow within this company.
THIS IS NOT A LANDSCAPING MAINTENCE POSITION!
Responsibilities
- Perform labor intensive tasks like shoveling material such as dirt, rocks and mulch and digging holes or trenches when needed.
- Assist with landscape installation tasks such as laying irrigation pipe, plants flowers and trees, raking and leveling the project area and applying weed barrier fabric when needed.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely for various landscaping projects.
- Use equipment like excavators, skid steers, ride-behind loaders and other construction machinery for site preparation and installation.
- Install and maintain irrigation systems and perform basic repairs as needed.
- Support snow plowing operations during winter months to ensure safe access for clients.
- Assist with the installation of hardscape features such as patios, walkways, and retaining walls.
- Conduct routine maintenance on trucks, trailers, tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries on-site.
- Optimal communication with other team members and project foreman.
- Work as a team to complete every and any project.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in landscaping installation or construction is preferred but not mandatory
- Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with landscaping equipment is a plus
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and small machinery safely and effectively
- Knowledge of grading and leveling techniques is desirable
- Strong work ethic with physical stamina to perform outdoor labor in various weather conditions
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work well within a team environment
- Valid driver’s license is preferred for equipment operation or site travel purposes
- Basic understanding of irrigation systems, dirt work and snow plowing techniques is advantageous
