Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Title Clerk with experience in Colorado motor vehicle title processing to join our automotive dealership team. This position is critical in ensuring all vehicle title and registration paperwork is processed accurately and in compliance with Colorado Department of Revenue (DOR) and DMV regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Colorado title laws, excellent customer service skills, and a high level of accuracy and organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare and submit vehicle title and registration documents to Colorado DMV in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with all state and local vehicle titling regulations, including emissions and VIN verification requirements.
- Verify accuracy of all sales documents (MSO, bill of sale, odometer disclosure, lien release, etc.).
- Track and follow up on title status, lien releases, and plate delivery to ensure smooth processing.
- Communicate with customers, lienholders, DMV offices, and internal staff to resolve title issues.
- Maintain detailed, organized records in accordance with state audit and compliance standards.
- Stay current with changes in Colorado motor vehicle laws, DMS systems, and dealership best practices.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience working as a title clerk in a Colorado dealership environment is strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of Colorado title regulations and DMV processes.
- Experience working with dealership DMS systems (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, Tekion) is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle high-volume paperwork.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a fast-paced team environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to compliance.
