What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director - Salesforce position at Rockwoods Inc?
Rockwoods is hiring a Director, Salesforce CRM Platform for one of our clients, a well-established, member-focused financial institution in the US. You'll own the strategy, delivery, and health of a multi-cloud Salesforce ecosystem that sits at the center of how members are served across every channel.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has run an enterprise Salesforce org end to end: the roadmap, the team, governance, vendors, and the integrations that connect it all.
What you'll do
Platform strategy and ownership
- Own the Salesforce roadmap across Financial Services Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, and related products, aligned to growth and member-experience goals
- Own the member data model and integrations so a member's history and context follow them seamlessly from one channel to the next
- Lead cross-functional prioritization of platform requests, advising leadership on capacity, sequencing, trade-offs, and build vs. configure vs. buy decisions
- Partner with data leadership to define what lives in Salesforce vs. the enterprise data warehouse, including data feeds, quality standards, and completeness metrics
- Recommend platform investment and licensing decisions to senior technology leadership
Delivery and governance
- Lead and grow a team of Salesforce administrators, developers, and architects
- Set and enforce platform governance: configuration standards, sandbox and environment strategy, release management, change control, and documentation
- Drive a configuration-first delivery approach that stays upgrade-safe
- Oversee integrations between Salesforce and core enterprise systems using MuleSoft, APIs, and vendor connectors
- Own delivery of Marketing Cloud Personalization and Marketing Cloud Engagement alongside the Marketing team
- Define and report platform KPIs (availability, release quality, integration reliability, adoption, data quality) and use them to cut shadow CRM tooling and guide investment
Vendor management
- Manage the Salesforce relationship, including licensing, renewals, true-ups, and roadmap engagement
- Manage middleware and ISV partners, including due diligence and ongoing performance and risk monitoring
Security, risk, and AI governance
- Work with Information Security on role design, permissions, and least-privilege access that holds up to audits and regulatory exams
- Govern AI capabilities on the platform (Einstein, Agentforce), including use-case approval, documentation, and responsible-AI compliance
- Ensure disaster recovery, data retention, and business continuity plans are documented and tested
What you bring
- 8 years of Salesforce platform experience, including 3 years leading admin and development teams
- Experience owning an enterprise, multi-cloud Salesforce org, including environment strategy, release management, and governance
- Track record managing Salesforce licensing, vendor relationships, and third-party apps
- Strong integration background: MuleSoft, REST/SOAP APIs, event-driven patterns
- Salesforce Certified Administrator (required)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent experience
Nice to have
- Architect-track certification (Application Architect, System Architect, or CTA)
- Experience in banking, credit unions, or financial services
- Working knowledge of Marketing Cloud Personalization and Marketing Cloud Engagement
- Experience governing AI-enabled CRM features
Why this role
- Own a strategic, enterprise-wide platform with real executive visibility
- Lead a full Salesforce team and shape how it grows
