POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor and Director of Child Nutrition Services, assist with the general warehouse duties, including the loading and delivery of equipment or supplies to specified district sites.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Fill and deliver requisitions for all schools and other district sites
- Receive and store Child Nutrition and warehouse supplies in the warehouse, freezer and cooler using the First In, First Out (FIFO) method
- Transfer food between kitchens
- Picks up and delivers furniture and portable equipment between district sites
- Deliver new furniture, equipment and supplies to all district sites
- Keep warehouse, freezer and cooler clean and in order
- Sweep and take out trash as needed
- Keep pallets stacked and discarded cases and supplies safely set aside
- Assist in taking inventory of warehouse and child nutrition supplies
- Service (gas and oil) warehouse vehicles, keeps them clean, and reports needed repair to the Warehouse Supervisor
- Transport deposits from schools to warehouse
- Follow policies and procedures necessary to comply with HACCP regulations
- Process obsolete equipment
- Perform small repairs on equipment and assemble equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to formulate tasks and follow through to completion with minimum supervision
- Ability to safely and legally operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to safely bend, twist and lift 50 pounds overhead
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to work outdoors, including in inclement weather
- Ability to write and understand verbal and written instruction
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- Prior experience in a warehouse operation preferred
- Valid driver’s license

- Outdoor forklift
- Electric pallet forklift
- Electric pallet walkie high lift
- Large box trucks and vans
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Within warehouse and child nutrition offices
- Inside and outside of school buildings, including in inclement weather
- This position is very active and requires the physical ability to enable standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and lifting throughout each shift
