About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a resident field service role based in St. Augustine, FL. This position services earthmoving equipment (track & rubber tire), construction machinery, and related heavy equipment. Technicians have full access to OEM diagnostics, schematics, blueprints, specialty tools, and ongoing training.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to service calls and travel to customer job sites.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and powertrains.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative service to reduce downtime.
- Use OEM diagnostic tools and software to identify issues and recommend solutions.
- Document repairs, parts used, and service notes accurately.
- Work closely with dispatch, service management, and parts teams for timely repairs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working on earthmoving equipment, heavy construction machinery, or road-building equipment.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostic procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins.
- Proficiency using diagnostic tools and computerized diagnostic systems.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required).
