Precision Roll-Threading Technician (Cold Form Fasteners)

What your day looks like

You’ll transform precision centerless-ground blanks into flawless threaded fasteners using a cold-forging thread rolling process on ductile metals. From the first part to the last, you’ll monitor quality conformance, keep parts flowing through the department, and maintain a clean, organized work area.

How you’ll contribute

  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot multiple heat-treat machines and roll-threading equipment.
  • Follow documented job travelers and quality procedures aligned to IATF 16949.
  • Dial in machine settings to control speeds, pressures, temperatures, and material dimensions/flow.
  • Start, stop, and sequence equipment via control panels and HMI pushbuttons.
  • Inspect machines, tooling, and materials to pinpoint root causes of errors, defects, or process variation.
  • Verify part conformance using calipers, micrometers, and a length gage; record and react to measurement data.
  • Continuously observe lights, gauges, and machine behavior to catch issues early; clear jams safely.
  • Partner with your Supervisor to review operations and resolve production challenges.
  • Keep parts moving, prioritize effectively, and uphold housekeeping and safety standards.

What you bring

  • 1 year as a roll thread operator in the fastener industry (preferred).
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949; experience with Root Cause Analysis and deductive reasoning.
  • Clear verbal communication and the ability to adjust machine components precisely.
  • Basic understanding of heading machine maintenance.
  • Comfort with physical work: lifting, walking, and handling material; moving quickly with minimal errors.
  • Commitment to OSHA and company safety guidelines at all times.

Tools you’ll use

Micrometers, calipers, length gages, and production controls to ensure every thread meets spec.

  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated areas.
  • Ability to continuously stand and move through 8–10-hour shifts.
