Category Sourcing Manager I or II

Rockline is seeking a Category Sourcing Manager I or II to help lead global category strategies, optimize our supplier base, and secure best‑net‑value solutions for our North American operations.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with multiple business units, partner with innovative suppliers, and help shape long-term strategic sourcing decisions that support Rockline’s growth.
What You’ll Do
Develop & Execute Category Strategies
- Build and implement comprehensive, dynamic category strategies aligned to business needs.
- Deliver clear, executive-level strategy summaries and mentor others on category strategy development.
- Identify and qualify global suppliers who drive innovation, competitiveness, and value.
- Manage supplier analysis, the qualification process, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Lead supplier discussions focused on cost reduction, risk mitigation, and value enhancement.
- Stay ahead of global market shifts, cost drivers, and industry trends.
- Identify innovation opportunities and share insights with key stakeholders.
- Partner with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Operations to support innovation and reformulation needs
- Collaborate with internal teams on negotiations, contract development, pricing structures, commercial terms, and issue resolution.
- Prepare and analyze RFQs/RFPs, cost models, and pricing assessments.
- Support sustainability initiatives, including bio-based materials, reduced environmental impact, and responsible sourcing
- Model Rockline’s RRITE values in daily work.

We are hiring either Sourcing Manager I or a Sourcing Manager II depending on experience and education background.
- 4 years of strategic sourcing or related experience (direct materials strongly preferred; international experience a plus).
- 6 years for the Sourcing Manager II position.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or related field (MBA or professional certifications such as CPSM, CPIM, or C.P.M. preferred).
- The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of surfactants, preservatives, fragrances, solvents, binders, actives, additives, and specialty chemicals, along with hands-on experience navigating global supply markets, regulatory requirements, and formulation-sensitive sourcing decisions.
- Proven experience in manufacturing environments
- Strong negotiation, cost modeling, and market analysis skills.
- Ability to evaluate supply sources, analyze pricing, and guide stakeholders in decision-making.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of contract law, agreements, and the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC).
- Experience in manufacturing environments preferred.
- Self-directed, analytical thinker who can influence and lead cross-functional efforts.
- Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
