SCOPE OF POSITION: The receptionist monitors alarm systems and security cameras, operates a multi-line telephone system to answer incoming calls and directs callers to appropriate personnel.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
- Monitors security cameras, fire and security alarms.
- Maintains radio contact with maintenance department and nursing home vehicles.
- Maintains security cameras.
- Keeps a log of keys signed in and out.
- Answers incoming calls, determines purpose of calls and forwards to appropriate personnel or department and dials requested numbers.
- Directs questions about the organization to appropriate personnel and provides callers with address, directions and other information.
- Welcomes on-site visitors, determines nature of business and directs to appropriate area.
- Assists with special events.
- Performs a variety of clerical duties such as filing, collating, copying, sorting and typing.
- Makes emergency 911 calls.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Duties require knowledge of office procedures equivalent to the completion of a High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one month of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education.
- Must have good interpersonal relations with proven communication skills.
STATUS/SHIFT: Part Time / Sat Sun 7:00am - 3:00pm, Mon 3:00pm-11:00pm / Union
SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL:
- 2nd Shift: $1.75/hour
- 3rd Shift: $3.00/hour
- Weekend Premium: $2.00/hour
