At Rockford Combustion, your technical instincts directly support the needs of our customers. You’ll work from a home office and travel weekly to client facilities, bringing complex thermal systems online, diagnosing burner control challenges, and keeping operations safe and efficient. We provide onsite training to build deep expertise in the combustion business—so you can grow into a uniquely skilled professional in a high-demand field.
A day in the fieldPicture this: You arrive at a customer plant, review the burner management system, perform a point‑to‑point checkout, and commission newly installed equipment. You collaborate with plant personnel, translate technical findings into plain language, and document field service reports and expenses before identifying opportunities for upgrades that boost reliability and safety. When needed, you deliver training support—then gear up for your next site.
What you’ll tackle- Analyze and solve burner control and electrical issues
- Perform point‑to‑point checkout, startup, and commissioning of new equipment
- Communicate effectively with client plant personnel
- Maintain accurate field service reports and manage expenses
- Identify opportunities for system upgrades and additional repairs
- Provide training support as required
- Other duties as required
- HVAC fundamentals
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Motor replacement, repair, and maintenance
- Alternative fuel systems familiarity
- Machine safety inspections
This role is home‑office based with weekly travel to customer sites. You’ll receive robust onsite training for a clear understanding of combustion systems and industry standards.
Compensation and benefitsWe offer competitive wages and bonuses. This position may be eligible for a sign‑on bonus equal to one month of salary, commissions, and up to a 2% end‑of‑year bonus tied to business goals.
