Polymerics Production Manager
About the Role
As the Polymerics Production Manager at Rocket EMS, you will oversee all polymer-based processes—including conformal coating, encapsulation, and potting—used to protect high-reliability electronic assemblies. You’ll manage daily production activities, ensure process stability, and drive continuous improvement in quality, throughput, and material performance. This role requires strong leadership, deep understanding of polymer materials and equipment, and a hands-on approach to managing people and processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Polymerics production team, including operators and technicians, ensuring schedule adherence, product quality, and safety compliance.

Oversee daily operations across coating, encapsulation, and curing lines to ensure consistent process execution and output.

Maintain and optimize production parameters for all polymeric processes (manual, selective spray, dip, and cure).

Partner with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering to develop, document, and sustain robust process controls.

Ensure compliance with IPC-CC-830, IPC-A-610, and customer-specific coating standards.

Oversee preventive maintenance and calibration of coating and curing equipment.

Approve and implement new materials, chemistries, and process changes in collaboration with Engineering.

Track and analyze yield, throughput, and defect trends; implement corrective and preventive actions.

Manage training, certification, and performance of all Polymerics personnel.

Support customer audits, new product introductions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Enforce chemical handling, ESD control, and environmental safety protocols.
Qualifications
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent experience.
Experience
-
5 years in polymeric or conformal coating production management within electronics manufacturing.

Proven experience leading teams in high-mix, low- to mid-volume production environments.

Familiarity with automated selective coating systems (e.g., PVA, Nordson Asymtek).

Strong working knowledge of polymer coatings—acrylic, urethane, silicone, and parylene.

Experience with process validation, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement frameworks (Lean/Six Sigma).
Skills

Excellent leadership and communication skills with ability to coach and develop team members.

Strong analytical skills for monitoring KPIs, yield metrics, and process performance.
