Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Superintendent role based in Bend, OR. The Superintendent oversees daily field operations for rock stabilization projects, coordinates crews and subcontractors, and ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, and within quality standards. Responsibilities include reviewing project plans and specifications, organizing resources, managing site logistics, and monitoring progress and compliance with safety regulations. The role also involves conducting site meetings, maintaining accurate documentation and reports, and serving as the primary on-site point of contact for project managers, clients, and inspectors. The Superintendent supports continuous improvement, mentors field personnel, and helps resolve technical and operational challenges as they arise.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of demonstrated experience supervising construction or heavy civil projects; rock stabilization or geotechnical experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of jobsite safety practices, OSHA regulations, and risk management for steep, vertical, and tunnel work environments.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Strong leadership, team coordination, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to direct crews in demanding field conditions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with project managers, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Proficiency with basic project management tools, site reporting, and documentation (e.g., daily logs, progress reports, time and materials tracking).
- Proven problem-solving skills and sound judgment when making decisions on site under time and safety constraints.
- Willingness and physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions, including travel to remote job sites as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or coursework in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is beneficial.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required; eligibility to operate company vehicles and equipment is a mandatory.
