In this role, you will be responsible for executing a wide range of masonry projects, including brickwork and stonework. Responsibilities
- Construct and repair brick and stone structures using various materials and techniques.
- Prepare surfaces by mixing mortar, laying bricks or stones, and applying finishing touches such as caulking or plastering.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized machinery safely and efficiently on construction sites.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Requirements
- Must have proven brick laying experience, preferably with a bricklayers union, and a strong portfolio of completed projects involving bricklaying and stonework.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels; power tools including saws and drills; and heavy equipment operation when necessary.
- Ability to perform demolition or renovation tasks involving carpentry (trim carpentry), framing (metal stud framing), plastering, caulking, and metal work as needed.
- Strong understanding of safety standards related to construction site experience including scaffolding setup and heavy equipment operation.
- Excellent communication skills for reading schematics accurately and collaborating effectively with team members.
