Performs and reports laboratory procedures to ensure optimal patient outcomes, utilizing laboratory skills. Responsible for assigned shifts, with potential overtime and callbacks, and performs additional duties as needed.
Responsibilities
- Receives, identifies, organizes, and prioritizes specimens for accurate and timely testing.
- Conducts and reports requested laboratory procedures.
- Performs quality control, proficiency testing, routine instrument maintenance, and inventory management.
- Ensures positive patient identification to minimize errors and adverse outcomes.
- Supports ongoing professional development and completes assigned goals.
- Preferred clinical laboratory experience.
- Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or completion of a 50-week US military medical laboratory training course with Military Medical Laboratory Specialist certification.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Full national certification compliant with federal and state regulations, obtained within six months of hire.
