Registered Nurse - Wound Care, Full-Time, Day

Job Summary: Provides specialized care for patients with various chronic wounds, utilizing advanced wound care treatments. Acts as a resource for healthcare professionals, patients, families, and the community.

Essential Functions

• Perform assessments and reassessments of patients' physical and educational needs under physician or Certified Wound Care Clinician guidance, communicating needs to the team and providing discharge teaching.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans, collaborating with the wound care team to ensure efficient, cost-effective treatment using current modalities.
• Educate patients and caregivers on evidence-based wound care practices and promote community awareness of healthy practices.
• Identify resource management and patient care issues, working with the team to find cost-effective solutions and facilitate discharges.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR, including product use and charges.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
• Perform hyperbaric oxygen therapy duties as trained, if needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Minimum of two years nursing experience, with a focus on skin and wound care; Wound Vac experience preferred.
• Current RN license recognized by NCSBN Compact or applicable state licensing.
• Wound and Ostomy certification preferred.
  
  

Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of advanced wound care modalities, strong assessment and communication skills, and ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams.
