Provides clerical support to the Veterans Service Office. Promotes the core values of the Veterans Service Office of Respect and Integrity to the veterans of Rock County.
50% Provides reception support for Veterans Service Office.
- Answers, screens, and routes incoming phone calls on a multi-line phone system.
- Staffs the front desk.
- Gives generalized information regarding departmental processes of varying complexity to incoming callers or walk ins.
- Provides exceptional customer service to individuals over the phone and in person.
- Operates a variety of office equipment.
45% General office administrative assistance.
- Maintains store room supplies.
- Creates reports on veteran clientele.
- Upload documents to database systems including OneDrive, SharePoint, and TVB.
- Maintains both physical and electronic case files.
5% - Other duties as assigned.-Knowledge of various software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
-Knowledge of computer principles, practices and applications.
-Knowledge of general current office practices, procedures and familiarity with standard office equipment.
-Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
-Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
-Ability to multi-task and perform a wide range of clerical duties accurately.
-Ability to establish and maintain effective public and working relationships.
-Ability to maintain professional and respectful behavior in sometimes difficult and stressful situations.
-Ability to communicate effectively across all forms of communication (i.e. in person, over the phone, written, etc).
-Skill in maintaining a high degree of accuracy and completing data and records.
-Work requires familiarity with departmental policies and procedures. -High school degree, preferably supplemented with education in office skills from adult education courses, technical college or business school
