Position Summary
The Server/Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service to members and guests. This dual role requires strong hospitality skills, attention to detail, and the ability to create a welcoming, enjoyable dining experience. The ideal candidate will be professional, personable, and efficient in both serving and bartending duties.
Key Responsibilities
Server Duties
- Greet and seat guests promptly with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Present menus, answer questions, and make recommendations on food and beverages.
- Accurately take food and drink orders and enter them into the POS system.
- Deliver food and beverages in a timely manner and ensure accuracy of orders.
- Anticipate guest needs, check back regularly, and respond promptly to requests.
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, dining areas, and service stations.
- Process payments accurately and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
- Support team members by assisting with side work, restocking, and set-up/clean-up.
Bartender Duties
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with recipes and standards.
- Create a welcoming bar atmosphere and engage guests with professional, friendly service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including glassware, tools, and supplies.
- Check identification to verify age requirements for alcohol service.
- Monitor guest consumption of alcohol and follow all responsible serving guidelines.
- Restock bar inventory and track product usage to minimize waste.
- Assist with beverage menus, cocktail specials, and promotions as directed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a server and/or bartender preferred.
- Knowledge of food, wine, beer, and cocktails.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be at least 21 years old (or in compliance with state law for alcohol service).
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS, ServSafe) preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift trays, boxes, and kegs up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to bend, reach, and carry items as required for service.
