JOB SUMMARY:
Rochester Midland Corporation (RMC) is a leading manufacturer and global supplier of specialty chemicals for food, sanitation, water treatment, legionella control, facility maintenance, restroom order control and industrial cleaning. We are searching for an experienced Sr. Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to utilize Power BI and other resources to perform data modeling and financial and sales reporting to transform data into actionable insights. This is an on-site position in Ogden, NY that supports strategic decision-making across the organization.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports for financial, sales data and more
- Design and implement data models to support efficient reporting and analytics
- Work closely with various business leaders to understand reporting needs and deliver meaningful insights
- Extract, clean, and transform data from multiple sources, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Optimize DAX calculations and Power BI performance for large datasets.
- Automate data refreshes and reporting processes using Power BI Service and scheduled data pipelines.
- Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to integrate new data sources into reporting structures
- Provide training and documentation to end-users to promote self-service BI adoption
- Take ownership of existing SQL-based database objects (e.g., tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers) built and maintained by a long-term contributor
- Analyze, document, and optimize existing SQL code to ensure maintainability and performance
- Maintain and enhance SQL queries supporting reporting, integrations, and business processes
- Design and implement new database objects as needed to support evolving business requirements
- Ensure database security, integrity, and compliance with data governance policies
- Perform impact analysis and regression testing when modifying legacy SQL code
- Perform similar/related duties as requested
EDUCATION/ SPECIAL LICENSES OR CERTIFICATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Mathematics preferred
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or related fields
- Advanced Power BI skills, including DAX, Power Query (M), and data visualization best practices
- Strong understanding of data modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake, etc.) and ETL processes
- Experience working with financial and sales data to provide key business insights
- Proven experience writing and maintaining complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions (preferably in Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or a similar platform)
- Strong understanding of relational database design, normalization, and performance tuning
- Experience working with legacy code and reverse-engineering existing database structures
- 2-3 years’ experience building and maintaining objects in SQL Server Management or similar platforms
- Experience with Google Cloud is a plus but not required

Salary : $120,000 - $130,000
