Middle School Science Teacher Job Description
Rochester Arts & Sciences Academy (RASA) is seeking a passionate, flexible, and student-centered Middle School Science Teacher to join our growing school community. Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging middle school science instruction aligned with curriculum standards
- Create hands-on, inquiry-based, and project-based learning experiences
- Foster curiosity, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Help support and grow the middle school program and culture
- Be flexible and open to helping in different areas as school needs evolve
- Differentiate instruction to support a variety of learners
- Assess student progress and provide timely feedback
- Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Collaborate closely with colleagues and administration
- Participate in school events, conferences, meetings, field trips, and professional development opportunities
- Communicate regularly and professionally with families
- Support students’ social-emotional growth and development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or related field
- Valid teaching license or ability to obtain licensure
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Passion for working with middle school students
- Ability to create engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences
- Flexible mindset and willingness to grow with a developing program
- Experience with inquiry-based learning, project-based learning, or IB philosophy preferred but not required
