Education/Licensure or credentials
- High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
- Completion of a Nursing Assistant Program and be certified in the State of Illinois.
- CPR within 1 year of employment.
Skills
- Previous medical office experience preferred.
- Ability to operate designated computer equipment.
- Ability to take vital signs.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with patients, medical staff, coworkers, and the public.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn new things.
- The ideal candidate must be able to work and complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Stand or sit for extended periods of time; push, pull and reach; occasional bending, sitting, stooping and stretching.
- Have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity needed to operate a keyboard, telephone, fax machine or other equipment as needed.
- Have normal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports; specific vision requirements including close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
- The work of this position is performed in an environmentally-controlled office environment.
- The position requires the ability to work under pressure and with a diverse population, including staff, physicians, clients, patients, insurance companies and other members of the public on a regular basis.
