The Medical Affairs Lead, Blood Screening is responsible for planning and implementation of Medical Activities aspects of the Global Medical Plan (GMP) for assigned products. The Medical Affairs Lead drives the overall medical activities and collaboration plans as part of the Medical Plan (MP), including Roche (& our affiliates) initiated medical education, medical activities at Congress’ & Advisory boards
The Medical Affairs Lead, Blood Screening will work closely with the global business team to execute the medical plan along with key initiatives and strategies to support the global utilization of related Roche Diagnostic Solutions (RDS) products.
No relocation benefits will be provided for this position.
Who You Are
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location Pleasanton, CA is $179,900 - $334,100. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.

The Medical Affairs Lead, Blood Screening will work closely with the global business team to execute the medical plan along with key initiatives and strategies to support the global utilization of related Roche Diagnostic Solutions (RDS) products.
- You will contribute to the medical plan and be responsible for activities related to executing non-registrational clinical trials. This includes managing investigator initiated studies and designing, managing Roche sponsored studies and providing medical support for the design and analysis of product evaluations.
- You will be expected to interact with members of the Roche Medical Systems (RMS) blood screening global business team, affiliates, and key opinion leaders
- You will be responsible for planning scientific advisory boards and scientific symposia according to the medical plan; You will ensure that targeted data sets are presented at key scientific meetings and international congresses and to peer-reviewed journals according to the publication plan; and You will provide scientific presentations to internal and external audiences.
- You are accountable for defining the strategy for Medical Activities and collaboration and will communicate these activities and develop medical messages along with the business team to support the marketing plan.
- Provides medical advice to commercial and lifecycle teams regarding customer needs and product strategy

Who You Are
- You hold an MD, MD/PhD, PhD or PharmD in life sciences
- You have 8 years experience in donor screening for infectious diseases and experience in blood bank industry and/or transfusion medicine
- You have experience designing scientific studies and assay validations; experience giving scientific presentations; and planning educational programs
- You have a proven track record of leading and performing in a fast-paced, matrix environment; ability to work independently and influencing others with strategic decisions
- You have experience leading and mentoring others
- You have experience solving unique or unpredictable problems that might have an impact on the goals and objectives as set by the organization
- You have the ability to partner across diverse regions, cultures, and time zones to create an environment of belonging, inclusion and diversity
- Interpersonal skills: Strong interpersonal, verbal communication and influencing skills: can influence without authority and has proven experience building and cultivating relationships with key partners and stakeholders, both internally and externally
