Rochambeau, The French International School of Washington, DC (Rochambeau), has two(2) openings for a Soccer Coach – Part-time for the 2026-2027 school year. The anticipated start date for this role is August 2026.

Salary Information: $60.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY
As part of the development and growth of our program, we are looking for dynamic, passionate, and committed soccer coaches for the upcoming season. Soccer Coaches are responsible for the growth, structure, and leadership of the "Mousquetaires" soccer program. As a pillar of student life for over 12 years, the program comprises 26 teams from Grade 1 (CP) through Grade 12 (Terminale). Coaches leads practices and matches for both recreational and highly competitive levels, fostering an environment of diversity, inclusion, and tailored athletic support. This role requires demonstrating the competencies needed to improve student athletic mastery and to support the core values, vision, and mission of Rochambeau.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Coach one or more teams ranging from Grade 1 (CP) to Grade 12 (Terminale)
Plan and lead engaging, effective training sessions and matches year-round
Adapt training content and technical drills according to player levels and needs
Support team participation in Fall, Spring, and optional Winter leagues
Maintain professional, timely, and respectful communication with players, parents, school staff, and the Athletic Department
Act as a role model for positive leadership, emphasizing sportsmanship and citizenship, and serving as a supportive educator both on and off the field
Ensure student safety during all sessions; physically demonstrate exercises and ensure proper use of equipment
Participate in department meetings and staff training, as required
Perform related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position as assigned by the Athletic Director and/or his delegates
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum of one (1) year of soccer coaching experience (school, club, or college level)
Mastery of soccer rules, techniques, and tactical strategies
Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills
Proven ability to physically demonstrate technical drills and exercises
Valid Adult & Child First Aid/CPR Certification (or the ability to obtain it before the season begins)
Regular, predictable, and reliable attendance at work for all training sessions and league matches
Computer and technological literacy
Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of information
Three Professional References (name, position, contact number and email) listed on your CV/resume
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual proficiency in French and English is strongly preferred
Experience coaching in an international or multicultural school environment
Experience coaching a wide range of age groups (Primary through Secondary)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position primarily operates in an outdoor athletic environment, with occasional sessions in an indoor gymnasium. The role requires physical mobility, including the ability to demonstrate athletic movements, prolonged periods of standing, walking, and occasional lifting or moving of athletic equipment (ball bags, cones, goals, etc.) up to 40 pounds.
